Day 7: Looked for America at the cliffs and Ed in Galway

Today was one of the coolest days I have ever had. We were fortunate enough to cross the country and see the Cliffs of Moher and visit Galway. The Cliffs of Moher were breathtaking to say the least. There is no way to describe the cliffs and do it justice. One would have to just stand there and look out to truly get a full experience of what the cliffs are like. Seeing the edge with no railing was a little bit frightening, especially the fact that around 70 people fall every year. It was fun to take cool photos on the cliffs, but it was also so calming to just sit and watch the waves crash into the side and enjoy everything you saw. I wish we had a little more time to walk around, but we are on a tight schedule.

After the Cliffs of Moher, we were able to drive to Galway and walk around the town. Because Ed Sheeran is playing, the town was booming with people. It was hard to walk in without dodging people left and right. Most restaurants were very crowded as well. I found it interesting that they call this weekend “Ed Fest” because Ed Sheeran is playing. I ate lunch as a seafood place called McDonagh’s. I am one person that absolutely HATES seafood, but the cod and chips I had were out of this world. They had different dipping sauces too which added more to the meal. After eating we were fortunate to walk around the town and see all of the street performers. For a snack we went to Murphy’s Ice Cream. Let me say, this was some of the BEST ice cream I have ever had. I wish we had more time to walk around Galway because the city was so cool and was booming with entertainment.

Overall, today was a culture filled day. I would love to spend more time at these destinations, but I guess this is an excuse to travel back to Ireland sometime soon.
