Today was our last day in Korea. There wasn’t any company visits or anything specific we had to do so the entire group had a beach day at Haeundae. It was somber because we all knew that the next morning we would be traveling to Incheon Airport in Seoul to take off.
In the morning, I went shopping with a friend for last minute gifts and to explore a bit more of Busan. We saw the Nampo Underground market and the nearby street market as well as the Lotte Outlet. At home, Lotte is a grocery store so it was surprising to see how large it is in South Korea. There are Lotte markets and department stores everywhere. After shopping we attempted the public transport system for the last time and rode a bus all the way to Haeundae. As a little tangent in this post, the Korean public transportation system is extremely well organized. It has English, Chinese, and Korean signs everywhere to make all of the tourist’s work easier. It also goes everywhere in the city and is continuously expanding. Also there aren’t any garbage cans in any of the stations and yet they are impeccable. After we successfully navigated the bus, we took some pictures and enjoyed the beach for a little and then walked the nearby board walk. There we had some street foods and ice cream. The ice cream is very good but with an interesting smoothness. Also the soft serve had chocolate chips throughout it which was new.
During the last dinner, we all did our final presentations. Dr. Yun told us to make them fun so the presentations were full of inside jokes, bad videos, and general tomfoolery. My project was on a crowd-sourced app for locating trash cans. The app was called trash and I even made a very badly done video on the subject.
