Well it sure feels like the trip has been slowing down since the sight visits are over. We have much more time to ourselves and that was on display today when we had the whole day to ourselves. On the bus coming home from the castle me and a group consisting of Eamonn, Reid, James, Joe and Esme felt it would be cool to go back to Munich and do things we didn’t on our trips there last Saturday.
We left to the Augsburg train station at 9:00 am sharp. There we purchased our tickets. Surprisingly they were not too expensive, to get to Munich and back it was only 15 a person. The train ride was about 45 minutes, so we arrived at about 10:30.

Before we ate or went to look at any sights I made sure I got the shirt I was unable to get on our first trip to Munich. Obviously from my last blog at Munich seeing the Eisbach (surfing river) was one of my highlights of the whole trip, so I needed to get a shirt to show I was really there and not just pictures. There is a surf shop in the main plaza of Munich called Santaloco. It has the same feel as one of the surf shops I would go to in Rehoboth, my home beach, which wad surprising. The shirt I wanted was right on the first rack when we walked in. It was a Santaloco x Ripcurl collaboration shirt. The shirt had a picture of the Eisbach and I knew it was a must cop. It was a bit pricy, 34 Euros to be exact, but well worth it. I’m actually wearing it now.
From the surfshop we went to a few little giftshops where we got stuff for our family and friends. At this point I was about to spend my last Euros. I went through a total of 400 Euros, which isn’t too bad for eating out every single meal.
We then went to a biergarten in one of the market places in Munich. Here we got some brats for lunch. They were decent, I’d give it a 8/10. We sat here and just had some conversations for an hour. By this time it was about 1. We then walked around Munich a little more, seeing pretty much everything we had seen already last Saturday.
We all got hungry once again. We went to Sausalitos for a later lunch. Here I got a chicken quesadilla along with Reid. This “Mexican” food definitely had some German influence in it. The amount of meat and food you get per serving here compared to the U.S. is very different, they love to fill you up here. My quesadilla was fantastic, I would give it a 9/10, it was one of my favorite meals of the trip.

From this later lunch we headed back to the train station. The trip back was once again about 45 minutes, so quite an easy trip compared to those that went to Austria, which ended up being about a 2 hour train ride back and fourth. No way I was traveling that much before our big travel day back which is today for me, I’m writing the blog a day late, on the plane currently.

After we got home and I took an hour nap or so, pretty much everyone was back at the hotel. It was time to say one final goodbye to the Germans. This was the moment everyone on the trip was not looking forward to. Over our two weeks here we have developed some great friendships, that will hopefully last. My time in Germany with all of them was incredible. I let them know this trip would never have been the same without them, ill save the rest of this dialogue for the next blog, my Germany in review blog.
