Our final day was spent in the morning at the Yu garden. The Yu garden was built by a son to please his parents and if I were his mom I would be very happy. It is absolutely a gorgeous place. I am just going to have to let the pictures speak for themselves on this one.
We walked through the gardens and it didn’t hit for a while that this was our last visit of the whole trip. We had some free time and walked around the shops near the garden and got some delicious dumplings that Sarah had recommended to us to get. They are a special in Shanghai and v delicious.
It was nice to sit and people watch for a little bit. Sadly we all had to regroup and head back to the hotel where I madly packed before we headed over to give our final presentations for the projects we had been working on the whole trip. After the presentations were done, we headed over to our dinner banquet where Dr. Li, Dora, Liliana, and Nancy all gave speeches and we tested our chopstick skills for the final time. We then got all our packing done and headed to the airport to say our final goodbyes and hop on our two redeye flights back to the states. We had some complications in the airport, but we all made it on the plane to San Francisco and I knocked out for like 9 hours of the 11 hour flight. It was sad to say goodbye to China, but I have a feeling I will be back very soon.
