Hello! Welcome to my blog! My name is Oday Abushaban, and I’m so excited to share my study abroad journey with you!
Let’s see, a little about me 😁
First of all, I’m a freshman engineer, in the Electrical Engineering department at Pitt, with a burning passion for aviation! Even though my degree is in engineering, I aspire to be an airline pilot one day so I can see the whole world! I’m originally from Gaza City, Palestine, and to this day I have held tightly onto my Palestinian culture, because I am proud to be a Palestinian!
As a student, my first year engineering experience was definitely not smooth sailing! I learned a lot in my first semester about how different college is from high school, and I’m proud to say that I have experienced failure, which I am really grateful for as it tremendously aided me into becoming the well-rounded student I am today. Not to say that things are easy as of right now (The first week of April was an absolute nightmare!), but I have adapted well and I have remained in control throughout my second semester.
In terms of this program, I was actually on the waitlist initially! I honestly didn’t think I would be able to go, but a spot opened up on the very last day, and presto! I’m on the Plus3 trip to Germany! WOOOOO! This trip is an awesome privilege and opportunity, and I know that I will become a better engineer, and person in general by getting out and experiencing the wonders that Germany has to offer. (Especially in the automotive industry!)
I’m really hyped for this trip, and I’m happy you’re here to enjoy it with me, I’ll be back in May! (If I survive finals!)
