Hi! My name is Hannah Sholehvar and I am from central New Jersey. Yes, central. I am very excited to welcome you to my blog where I will share my experiences and adventures while traveling abroad in Ireland!
I am a junior at Pitt majoring in Marketing and pursuing a certificate in Digital Media. This past summer I had a Digital Marketing internship at a company called Responsival where I gained a lot of insight into the digital world. I enjoyed putting my knowledge from classes to the test and expanding on them. For this upcoming summer, I hope to find another internship that will help me grow my business and life skills even further. Outside the classroom, I am an active member in the Women in Business (WiB) club. Thanks to WiB, I get to meet new people every week in either professional or social settings and learn from them. In my free time, I love to play basketball, spend time with friends & family, and of course…travel!
I will be staying in Dublin for about two weeks with a program called Plus3. I was originally supposed to participate in this program freshman year, however, it was sadly interrupted by COVID-19. So here I am! I chose this program because I think it is a good balance between professional and cultural experiences. It might be a busy two weeks, but the length of the trip was also appealing to me; the perfect kickoff to summer. During this trip, I hope to learn a lot about Irish culture. I have been to Europe before, but I think this will be a very different experience. Especially since I will be seeing it through a business lens. We have started to learn about the differences and similarities between business in Ireland and in the U.S., so I look forward to seeing them for myself.
Overall, I am very excited for this unique opportunity, and I can’t wait to share my experiences!
