Hello everyone, and welcome to my blog! I am Will Beach, and I am in the Plus3 Ecuador program: chocolates and roses. Now, a little bit about me. I am double majoring in Supply Chain Management and Business Information Systems, with a minor in French and a certificate in International Business. I am from Naperville, Illinois, which is 20 miles west of Chicago. On campus, I am involved in many extracurricular activities. I am the Social Chair for the Men’s Ultimate Frisbee team and a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, the oldest professional fraternity on campus.
The Ecuador Plus3 program will focus on two important products in Ecuador’s culture and economy: chocolate and roses. I first heard about the Plus3 program through my brothers in Alpha Kappa Psi and was encouraged to submit an application. I chose the Ecuador program to gain firsthand experience in international supply chains and to visit a country that is known for its biodiversity. This program will help me in my career by teaching me how to conduct business with international companies, as well as practicing networking and communicating with people from different cultures.
I am excited about this trip. It will offer stunning natural views, from Pacific Coast beaches to the Andes mountains and the wildlife of the Amazon, as well as a look into a culture that is much different from mine. I cannot wait to share my experiences on this blog with you all!
