Hello! My name is Lindsey Kutz, and I come from a small city outside Pittsburgh called Trafford. I am part of a family of 6: two parents, two siblings, myself, and an adorable dog! My hobbies include reading, binging Netflix, and buying house plants! I love spending time with my family and friends. I am currently a freshman at the Greensburg campus and I am a dual major. My majors are Secondary Education and English Literature. I am also completing a minor in psychology. I hope to become a Secondary Education English Literature teacher. My dream job would be teach AP classes to high school students! I’ve always enjoyed the AP high school curriculum and feel that I thoroughly enjoyed the literature taught in high school.
I will be traveling on the Plus3 UK trip. I chose to do this because I feel that the only way to improve education systems in America is to expose ourselves to methods that work in other parts of the world. I believe that exposure to other cultures and ways of life can help us as future educators make school environments better for students, parents, and teachers alike. By comparing the systems that work in the UK, analyzing the similarities and differences, we can improve our systems with the knowledge we gain on this trip. Exploring and experiencing the world only fosters broader minds, inclusivity, diversity, and understanding.
