As indicated by the title, we toured the Café Britt Costa Rica location today. Something interesting that unnoticed about it was that, while the coffee from this location was indeed of high quality, the company seems to put a bit more thought into the presentation of the location and marketing in foreign countries. This, along with the fact that the coffee produced here tends to be more expensive in general likely all contributes to why local Ticos don’t tend to drink coffee from Cafe Britt.
The methods that this company uses to stand out and bring in consumers is actually rather interesting. As stated before, they have a number of branch locations in a few different countries, all marketed as local companies, using locally sourced coffee yields in order to roast the different batches. This is actually rather intelligent, as they are able to use this to sell their coffee batches as a sort of tourist commodity representative of whatever country that specific branch is based in.
