My name is Franny Adams!
My favorite way of spending free time is definitely going out to eat with close friends. Some of my favorite places in Oakland right now are Zen Noodle House and Butter Joint! I have 2 younger brothers back home in Rhode Island and a 4 year old yellow lab named Lilo. I’m excited to go to Newport beaches this summer, eat lots of good food, and visit my friends in Martha’s Vineyard.
I am a first-year student at the University of Pittsburgh studying Finance and Business Analytics, minoring in Economics, and pursuing a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Outside of the classroom I am involved in Phi Beta Lambda and am currently shadowing for the position of Vice President of Professional Development for the upcoming 2023 – 2024 school year. I am involved in Panther Equity, a student run investment portfolio, and was elected to serve as a Junior Analyst in both the Energy and Healthcare sectors.
I am currently working as an Othot intern within Liaison as a product development evaluator. My primary responsibilities include creating deliverables for product evaluation based on strategic fit, competitive advantage, market attractiveness, technical feasibility, and financial reward/risk. I was drawn to The Netherlands Plus3 Program because of its focus on ‘concept to consumer’. I find product development incredibly interesting and cannot wait to learn more about the process while exploring The Netherlands.
Studying abroad is the perfect opportunity to pursue my academic goals while gaining invaluable international experience. From the Haller Global Honors Fellowship, I was able to discover the value of bringing different perspectives and cultures into the workplace. Beyond the general appeal of study abroad for a business major, Plus3 is especially exciting as the duration of the program allows for travel without a full commitment to being away from family and friends long-term. The opportunity to immerse myself in a culture for a limited period of time will ultimately encourage me to dive deeper into the experience.
While studying abroad, I have the primary goal of making memories and developing friendships with my peers. Traveling is a transformative experience that when experienced with others, can create a foundation for unforgettable memories and life-changing relationships. I plan to achieve this goal by immersing myself completely in the Plus3 program. Through business site visits and cultural experiences I believe that Plus3 The Netherlands will provide the unique opportunity for simultaneous academic, personal and professional development.
