Hey everyone! My name is Jenna Huff and I am a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. Currently, I am planning to double major in finance and marketing with a certificate in sports management. I grew up in Orange County, California and I decided to come to Pitt because they offer many study abroad programs and loved the campus. Here at Pitt I am an active member in Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, and Kappa Kappa Gamma. Outside of school, I love to bake, go out to dinner with my friends, and play soccer.
I am so excited to travel to Costa Rica through the Plus3 Program! I chose Costa Rica because I’ll be able to study the supply chain of coffee and bananas, which I both love. In addition, I can’t wait to experience their culture, see how welcoming they are there and try all the different types of fruit they typically eat.
I am looking forward to learning about globalization with a deeper dive into the coffee industry specifically. I can also use my knowledge of Spanish from my Spanish classes and practice by communicating with the locals in Costa Rica. In the future it would advance my professional skills by offering me insight and encountering how businesses work in different parts of the world; then I could take that knowledge and apply it to everyday life in the business setting when dealing with either domestic or international issues.
