Hello! My name is Ryan Kimball and I am a freshman College of Business Administration student at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Finance. I come from Yardley, Pennsylvania which is in Bucks County in the Philadelphia area . I intend to minor in Economics and Computer Science as well. At Pitt I am a member of the Phi Chi Theta business fraternity which holds numerous professional development events. In my free time I enjoy playing golf with my friends and my Dad, as well as spending time down the beach (Long Beach Island). At home I live with my Mom and Dad with no siblings.
Plus3 is a study abroad option offered through Pitt’s College of Business Administration that gives students the opportunity to travel internationally while completing a 3 credit class. I chose Pitt CBA’s Plus3 program because of its unique approach to study abroad. Instead of a full semester, Plus3 is only two weeks which allows me to experience a foreign culture while also allowing me to keep most of my summer for internships and time with family. Being able to complete 3 credits during this time also was a major factor in my decision to enter the program. I hope through the company visits planned for the trip I will be able to learn successful business practices and observe how international business is handled. While abroad I also look forward to developing traveling skills as well as enjoying immersion into a culture I have not yet experienced. Although I have traveled internationally before I have never been to the Netherlands so I am extremely thankful and excited for this opportunity.
