Michael’s Marvelous Trip to Amsterdam

Hello! My name is Michael Campbell and I am a freshman business student here at the University of Pittsburgh. I am from Murrysville, PA and I am double majoring in Finance and Business Analytics, with a minor in Economics. I am very excited to go on this trip because I have never been outside of the country and am looking forward to this adventure! Outside of the classroom, I am member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business fraternity here on campus. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy playing video games with my friends, watching Netflix (My favorite show is Money Heist), and going on walks in Schenley Park.

My chosen program for Plus 3 this summer is The Netherlands, and I am so excited for this opportunity! I have always seen such beautiful picture of the Netherlands and it’s one of the many countries I hope to be able to visit in Europe one day. My travel experience is quite limited. When I was in the Bridge to Brotherhood process in my frat, so many of the brothers had been on Plus 3, and it was something that really intrigued me. Everyone that I talked to had nothing but positive things to say about the program, whether it be the trip itself or the knowledge and experience that comes with it. Since I have never been abroad before, let alone abroad without my family, I knew Plus 3 was the perfect program for me since it is only 2 weeks long, and gives just a taste of what a month or entire semester abroad would be like.

While I am abroad, I hope to learn more about how the supply chain as a concept works, and be able to apply that in my future core business classes. I am looking forward to the various company visits, and I plan on asking lots of questions about their personal experiences and what knowledge they can enlighten us with. I also hope to learn more about the culture of The Netherlands, and really immerse myself in a new culture. I plan on taking so many pictures and trying lots of new foods (and spending lots of money haha). I also am hoping to make great friendships with my fellow business and engineering students, that will hopefully last a life time!
