Hello! My name is Willie Chen and I am from Philadelphia, PA. I am currently a sophomore at Pitt majoring in Finance and Business Information Systems and minoring in Economics. On campus, I am the Vice President of Pittsburgh Student Ventures which is a club focused on venture capital and private equity and I am also on the Pitt Club Football team. Currently, I am interning as an Investment Analyst for Plug and Play Tech Center which is a startup accelerator based out in Silicon Valley. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy going to the gym, exploring different parts of Pittsburgh, and trying new places to eat.
I chose the Plus3 Ireland program because it gives me the opportunity to explore and learn about a new country. I would be able to experience a whole new culture first-hand and this would help me develop personally and professionally in many different ways. In Ireland, I am looking forward to the company site visits and seeing how companies in Dublin operate while also exploring different popular spots around the city. I have always been interested in international business and this program gives me the perfect opportunity to gain more knowledge within this space.
In college, I have always wanted to study abroad but I did not want to be away from home for too long. This Plus3 program for two weeks was the perfect length of time for me to achieve what I wanted in traveling to a new country for the first time as well as gain professional experience.
