Hello! I am Jack Duffy and I live in Gladwyne, PA. I am a big fan of trying new things. Instead of following my very close friends to our local high school, I ventured out and went to St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia. I grew up in Haddonfield, New Jersey, near Cherry Hill. Not content with living in one place for most of my childhood, I (or, well, my family) moved to Gladwyne, where we are now. I am in the School of Business here at Pitt and have taken an interest in computer science as well, and absolutely love the novel ideas of both fields of study. I intend to embrace the new in all aspects of my life, personally, academically, and professionally. But I have been to Costa Rica before. So why contradict myself and choose it again? Warmth.
In my opinion, New Jersey and Pennsylvania’s temperature is always on the cusp of being perfect, but it is ruined by some wind or rain every time perfection comes close. But from my experience, I know that Costa Rica is perfectly warm all the time, every day. Of course, this makes sense literally, but I am talking in metaphors. Costa Rica’s culture, people, and food are constantly warm, with a feeling of comfort, relaxation, and welcome that just isn’t present in many other places. Mix the warmth of Costa Rica in with the knowledge I can gain on its business practices and also Spanish, and it is a perfect destination.
