Hi! My name is Gianni Diacopoulos and I am a sophomore electrical engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh. I am from Murrysville, PA which is 30 minutes from campus, so I am a big fan of the black and gold. Outside of school, I like to do activities outside, play video games, and watch sports. I am also on the club soccer team for Pitt. I play goalie which is something not a lot of people know. I’m also in Triangle, a social STEM fraternity. Over the summer, I am looking forward to my first internship with BPMI (Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc.).
I chose to go on the Prague Plus3 trip because I had friends go abroad last year and they said that it was an amazing experience. Prague is also one of those places a lot of people haven’t heard of before. I thought it would be a great experience to go to a less popular city which I never expected to visit. On this trip I hope to learn more about engineering in foreign countries as well as what it looks like to live in another country. Also, on this trip we will be visiting many engineering businesses. I would love to see how these businesses defer from the ones we have in the US. I can’t wait to go on this trip and I know it will be a lot of fun.
