Hi! My name is Krista Dronzek, and I am from Westchester County, NY. I am in Pitt’s Swanson School of Engineering and I plan to do bioengineering.
Some things about me are that I love ice cream and trying new foods, and I work at an ice cream shop. In my free time I am either at the gym, playing soccer, hanging out with friends, snowboarding or at the beach in the summer.
I am part of the Costa Rica program, and am super excited to learn about the supply chain of coffee and bananas. Although I am not a huge coffee drinker, I find it really interesting learning about the production and everything that goes behind such an in-demand product. I am excited to learn more about the food and culture of Costa Rica, meet new friends, and of course, explore the country.
I am excited to go on this trip and learn about the business and engineering side of the coffee network, and I think this will be useful to my degree because I plan to get a certificate or minor in some sort of business, so learning about all the aspects that go behind producing things like coffee, bananas, and chocolate will allow me to know how things work in the supply chain.
