Today, we had our first class at Charles University, where we listened to a history lecture about Czechoslovakia from 1918-around 1980. Afterward, we had a scavenger hunt. Not to brag, but totally bragging that my group won the hunt. We then got lunch at the cutest cafe I’ve ever been in, and went to our first company visit! We visited TechTest, a startup with a product that can detect grease on a surface. Afterward, I went up the astronomical tower and explored the city with Claire! We went into a bunch of cool places throughout the streets of Prague.
So far, my most fish out of water experience has probably been trying to navigate the language. There have been times when I try to read a description in a store, only to realize that it is in Czech and I have to use a translator. Similarly, many menus are in English, but when we get the bill for the restaurant all of the items are in Czech! It is difficult to decipher which item is which on the bill.
I loved exploring the city today, and I absolutely cannot wait to see more over the next week and a half!
