Today was jam packed with events! To start, we were given a great presentation from Ellie Doyle. Ellie is an extremely influential and inspiring person. She is the founder of TalentHub which is a company that provides recruitment and talent management services to various companies across all sectors. During the presentation, there were many important things to take away from it. Although, the thing that stood out most to me was the 2023 Most In-Demand Skills. This is because all of these skills are soft skills and not hard skills, and just a few years prior many of these skills would have been hard skills too. With AI and automated jobs becoming very relevant, many jobs will soon be automated. Although, this will open a giant door for new jobs that don’t even exist today, and I feel that these soft skills like Management, Communication and Customer Service will be at the forefront of required characteristics for these new jobs.
Personally, I would like to think that I have been able to develop certain strong competencies from LinkedIn Learnings top 10 list. For the past 7-8 years, I have been working many skills. Some of which are: management, analytical, teamwork, sales, and in my opinion one of the most important ones, communication. This has allowed me to succeed in my previous occupations from the various places that I have worked. This impacts my job performance significantly by allowing me to stand out amongst my peers that lack in these areas.
I believe that personal drive can go parallel to these skills that I mentioned as if you don’t work harder than the person next to you, then you’re not taking advantage of the skills you worked so hard to build. This in my opinion makes up my personal brand. As Ellie mentioned, your personal brand is essentially what people say about you when you’re not in the room. Since I don’t know what people say about me, I know that my skills like hardworking skills and communication stand out amongst my peers from performance reviews. I commit fully to the jobs that I do; I am myself in and out of the workplace allowing for personal connections and meaningful conversations as well.
From my background as a Masonry Manager, I learned hard work at a young age which put a fire behind my drive, and I would like to think that my managers and peers can see this. So, in conclusion I think my personal brand is made up of many of these required soft skills along with other positive things said about me from always being friendly, hardworking, myself, understanding and positive in each professional scenario.

As you can see in the featured image as I look at this trophy with an up close smile, this is how I approach my goals – head on.
