One thing I’ve found interesting during my time in Prague is how much American culture is integrated into the Prague culture! Surprisingly, not knowing Czech hasn’t been that much of an inconvenience because a good majority of the people speak English. I went to see some live music and the artists sang all American songs. I was in Prague singing Sweet Caroline, the Pitt version too haha. Whenever I go to get anything to eat the items are described in both Czech and English. I was even able to have a good conversation with one of my waiters! Maybe it’s because Prague has welcomed so many Americans over the years, so much so that they just embraced some of our practices and tendencies. I don’t know, that’s just a guess, but it is certainly nice to have a little bit of home with me in this new city.
