My day began with breakfast and journaling at the hotel, then we took the train to Central Bohemian Innovation Center (SIC). This company visit was exciting and eye-opening. We learned about how they help companies grow and innovate with financial support, marketing strategies, and connecting research companies.
We had a quick lunch and stroll through the farmers market, then went to tour a fallout shelter. Our guide was very informative, describing how the different rooms were used when the Germans spied on enemies in the hotel above. It is exciting to learn about history along with seeing where it all took place.
Then we headed over to the Mezi Blocky Music Festival. We got to meet some Czech college students who taught us games and helped us make some crafts. The little moments always seem to be the ones that I remember on long trips. I will never forget the girl who translated the would-you-rather game, and made us laugh by putting stickers on her butt.
The small moments continued as Cara and I went to the Cubism Museum. We walked through silently, taking our time to observe the art. We heard music coming from outside. I looked to the museum guard to see how he would react to my disturbing the blinds in order to peer out the window, but he smiled and turned away, pretending not to see. There were people dancing on the street below. We watched and admired their energy as more and more of the crowd was pulled into the dance circle. Everyone was smiling. It was contagious.
