Czech-ing Out the Art Scene

** Slight edit to yesterday’s blog: The yellow flowers are canola, not granola. lol

Today started with a bus ride to Kutna Hora! We got to see the Sedlec Ossuary, which was built on land that used to be a cemetery. The cemetery held the remains of 40,000 people who died during the 13th century plague and 14th century Hussite Wars. Their remains were removed from the cemetery and used to decorate the church. Then. we got to see the Churches of the Assumption of Virgin Mary and of St. Barbara (seen below). Both had very beautiful architecture, stain glass, and statues. To close out the evening, a group of us went to enamel painting, and I painted a souvenir saucer to remember my time in Prague.

The best food that I had while in Prague was probably from the first night. It was the first authentic Czech food that I had, and I was very hungry from traveling all day the day before. The beef was very tender and the sauce was amazing. The bread dumplings were different from any other food I had tried prior, but similar to bread. It was very useful for soaking up the sauce on the plate.
