Second Company Visit

Today we visited Grob. Grob is a company that makes robots/machines to manufacture cars. They sell these machines to Tesla and, any other big car brands. We started the company visit with a presentation and then a factory tour. Grob was unique in that they make 80 percent of the parts they need for their machines. That’s insane because they require a lot of parts. After that, they gave us another presentation about the company and I was surprised to learn that they have a factory in Ohio. Overall grob was a very cool company with a lot of potential for the future.

Compared to Hoerbiger I think that Grob is better set for the change to EV cars. Hoerbiger has a great product in the medical field but their product in the automotive field is very specific to ICE cars as they make parts for gear shifting. Grob’s technology can build a multitude of parts for cars and can work for any type of car. This means that Grob will be in a better place once EVs become the main car in Europe and all over the globe.

So far grob has been my favorite company. The factory was really clean and didn’t smell bad. I thought it was cool that they were making these incredable complicated machines that are building very complicated things. Im curious on if grob machines will be at the audi vist later this week.
