Today we spent the day at the CEZ Group facility. They showed us how they intend to innovate energy for the future, given their current production using methods like coal and nuclear. The highlight for me was absolutely getting to walk around their open pit coal mine. It gave me much more context for how we can transform raw materials like coal into electricity to be distributed all across the continent.
Before coming to the Czech Republic, I was worried about the potential culture shock I would experience after landing in a country where English is not the only language. I was concerned I would have a very hard time navigating the city and doing what I wanted to do, but I was completely wrong.
Czechia is shockingly similar to America in ways I was not expecting. First of all, English is spoken much more prevalently than I presumed it would be, so interactions at restaurants or shops are usually very easy. Prague is clearly built for tourists in many ways, so there are plenty of resources available to be able to navigate the city, such as Google Maps. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the lack of difficulty we all have had regarding navigation and ease of exploration.
