Day 9-Regensburg and The Walhalla

We visited Regensburg today. The city was a lot less crowded than Munich, but was not as beautiful in my opinion. It was still a really cool and new place to visit. Regensburg had a lot of tight and narrow streets, the Danube river off to the side, and lot of really old buildings which added an Italian feel to the place. While there I visited St. Peter’s Cathedral. It had a gothic design which stood out from all of the other buildings. Not only that, but it was huge. It also was placed pretty much dead center of the city which was very helpful when it came to navigating the area.

That was not the only place we checked out today. We visited The Walhalla or Valhalla, which was around 15-20 minutes away from Regensburg. It was a stunning place to visit. Walhalla looked a lot like the Parthenon in Greek mythology which I thought was very interesting. From the bottom of the hill (where the picture was taken) to the top of the building took 418 steps to walk up. When up there you can get a good view of the landscape and the Danube river which I admired a lot.

For food today, I had the hotel breakfast. Today was different because I had the waffles and they tasted really good, but it felt very unhealthy to eat. I had shawarma for the first time at a Hebrew restaurant for lunch. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t blown away by it. I also had strawberry gelato after lunch and McDonalds chicken nuggets for dinner. The reason I got McDonalds is because everything closes early in Augsburg. My dining rating for today: 6/10.
