Today we drove to Regensburg. Regensburg is cool because it wasn’t occupied during World War 2 and therefore wasn’t destroyed. The city is almost entirely original and has lots of old history. It was established in the first century AD, so the buildings and roads were really cool because of their age. We crossed the Danube by bridge and into the city. The tour guide told us there were over 5000 restaurants, but we only got to try one and then two ice cream shops. It was a very popular tourist destination and Americans on tours were everywhere. We saw a very big and very old cathedral and it could be seen throughout most of the city. The weather was pretty wild today also. It was cold in the morning, hot in the afternoon, and rained twice. The climate reminds of Pittsburgh.
After Regensburg we went to an architectural site built by king Ludwig in the early 19th century. It reminded of the Greek pantheon, but it is now a museum showing great German people in history. It was a massive building and it looked over the Danube. Walhalla was a great spot to take pictures and there were lots of trees nearby. Below it was a like communal garden for the people that lived in the area and also a small farm with goats.
