Drowning and Monkey Business!

It’s crazy to think we’re nearing the end of our trip! On our last day at the lodge, we went on a pretty sick river hike. We were right in the middle of the Amazon, walking through what was not actually a path. At a certain point, I couldn’t even reach the bottom and we had to swim (I’m not short, I promise!). The water filled all our boots, making us sing, while we couldn’t help each other o or even grab onto something. It was definitely a scary moment, but we made it to a beautiful pool/well area to swim! The water was so refreshing, that even though there were some creatures, I could disregard them! Even what felt like a near death experience, I could overlook it (a little!).

Later that day, we went to a cute little town called Misahualli, and got snacks, some trinkets, and walked aronud with the group. It was a really sweet way to spend the last evening there with everyone. We even saw some monkeys, and one fell from a tree (he was okay, don’t worry). We stopped to see a snake which was SUPER scary; I think I was the only one who didn’t want to hold it. Can you blame me!

Over the past couple days I’ve experienced such unique things. I want to thank Todd for making this possible and being with our group every step of the way!
