Day Twelve – Harry Styles!!!

Today was our free day, so a few friends and I went to see Harry Styles in Munich.

I got to sleep in again today, which was amazing! Around 2:40, we boarded the ICE train to Munich, arriving about 30 minutes later. From Munich’s main train station, we took an Uber as far as we could to the stadium, but police had blocked off many roads leading to the stadium, so we had to walk pretty far to get there. After we arrived, we stood in line for a bit before being let into the stadium. We visited the merchandise table quickly, and then ran to get good spots on the floor. We were quite successful since we were in the second standing row from the front by the time the concert started.

Harry had one opener, a band called Wet Leg, and I enjoyed the songs they played! I knew one of them, and had heard parts of the other before.

After standing and waiting for four hours, Harry actually came out and the crowd’s energy was electric. Everyone was so excited, and you could tell that everyone was having a ton of fun! He played a lot of songs from his most recent album, but he also played a lot of my favorite songs from his two older albums too. He even played my favorite One Direction song, so that was amazing! His stage extended really far into the audience, so at times he was really close to us, allowing us to get some awesome pictures and videos!

Once the concert was finished, we had the task of navigating Munich and making it back to the main train station on our own. This was somewhat scary, but we were actually somewhat good at following directions that were given to us and looking at subway maps to determine what lines we should take and where to get off.

In all, today was so much fun and taught me a lot about navigating a concert setting, a new city, and transportation in a new country!

Thanks for joining me on this trip. I had so much fun, and I hope I can experience something similar very soon!
