This summer, I’m thrilled to be embarking on a trip to South Korea through the University of Pittsburgh’s plus3 program! As a freshman business student, this is an incredible opportunity to experience a new culture and gain valuable global insights firsthand. While at Pitt, I’m setting my sights on a double major in accounting and finance, with a minor in economics to round out my business acumen. This combination will equip me with a strong foundation for a successful career in the world of business.
Last summer, I took a leap and ventured outside the US for the first time. That trip ignited a passion for international travel within me. I discovered the joy of exploring new landscapes, immersing myself in different cultures, and broadening my perspective. South Korea, with its rich history, vibrant tech scene, and stunning natural beauty, promises to be an unforgettable adventure.
The plus3 program is particularly exciting because it allows me to combine my academic pursuits with this international experience. I’m eager to learn about South Korea’s business environment, economic landscape, and how these factors might influence my chosen fields of study. Perhaps I’ll even get the chance to connect with local business professionals and gain insights that wouldn’t be possible in a classroom setting.
From this trip I hope to gain insight from the Korean smart systems, Korean culture, and site visits at Korean businesses. It is currently April 2nd and I leave May 4th. I am counting down the days because I am so excited for this opportunity Pitt has provided me.
