Hello, I am Alexander Kwasinski. I am really looking forward to participating in Plus3 Korea with everyone this summer. I am currently a freshman computer engineering student who is passionate about all things robotics and aerospace. I also am aiming to participate in the EAGr program (to complete my master’s degree in 5 years) and I want to complete a concentration in autonomous systems. On campus, I am part of the SOAR and RAS—which are two engineering clubs where I work on projects related to robotics. Other than my career interests, I like to play soccer, play video games, and read books.
My family and I love to travel. I have been to 8 different countries and Korea will be my 9th. Once I heard of Plus3 I immediately decided to participate because I always look for excuses to see and experience new places. As for why I specifically chose Korea, its culture has always been enticing for me. Last summer, my family and I traveled to Japan, and it was the most unique place I have ever seen because of its differences in culture and landmarks. This sparked my interest in Korea and other Asian countries because of their different cultures.
Korea is also a world leader in electronics and smart systems. Plus3’s emphasis on smart systems, which almost directly correlates to my desired career path, enticed me even further. I hope this opportunity allows me to pursue my academic interests while traveling and experiencing as many new things as possible.
Overall, I am excited to go to South Korea to learn more about its smart systems, culture, and environment. I hope Korea’s advanced smart system infrastructure will inspire many learning possibilities and projects. I also hope to learn more about Korea’s unique culture through its food, buildings, and people. Finally, I hope to visit many interesting landmarks and famous locations. All in all, I am counting down the days until I travel to Korea.
