About Me:
Hello, my name is Jacob Thomas. I am from Horsham, PA, and I am a freshman studying Finance and Supply Chain Management at The University of Pittsburgh, College of Business Administration. When I am not in the classroom, I am involved at the University by being in Sports Business Association (SBA) and by playing recreational flag football. I am hoping to play recreational basketball and join Panther Equity next year. In my free time, I like to hang out with my girlfriend, watch sports, go to the museums around Pittsburgh.
I run my own business, J3t Cards, where I buy, sell, and trade sports cards. Sports trading cards are a hobby of mine, and I am very happy that I was able to turn my hobby into a business. It has taught me how to negotiate with others and how putting your name out there and building a network is super helpful.
I chose Cyprus due to the very long and interesting history of the country. I took Greco-Roman religion in the fall semester and learned a lot about Greek Mythology, so I am very excited to see sites that we talked about in class, including Aphrodite’s Rock. I am also interested in exploring my interest in supply chain and finance through site visits to companies, such as Columbia Shipmanagement. One part of the trip I am most excited about is the food. I am excited to try the desserts, in particular!
