About me!
Hi! My name is Sophie McGrann and I am a freshman here at the University of Pittsburgh. I am pursuing a double degree in Business Analytics and an undeclared major in the Dietrich school. I’m from Lancaster, PA! Here at Pitt, I am involved in Chi Omega, a social sorority, Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business fraternity, and Smart Women Securities, an all female investment club. I recently was elected as a recruitment chair in AKPsi and want to pursue leadership positions in my other organizations in the future. Professionally, I am interested in pursuing a career in consulting or public policy.
I am a people person and love spending time with my friends and family. Listening to music and going to live concerts are some of my favorite things. I’ve seen Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Ariana Grande and more in concert! I try to stay active and enjoy working out and exploring the outdoors. I love traveling and am super excited to go to Cyprus!
Plus3 Cyprus
I am going to Cyprus, where we will learn more about supply chain management through Cyprus’ advanced ship management industry and online gaming industry. These are areas that I don’t know much about, so I am very excited to expand my understanding—especially in such a unique location. Cyprus’ rich history and culture drew me to this program. Learning about how Cyprus is a global hub of ancient history and has been an intersection of so many cultures excites me. I can’t wait to experience this history in person.
This experience is an opportunity for me to learn and grow. I’m sure there will be bumps along the way but I can’t wait to have a unique adventure. I am excited to travel with my peers and make lifelong friendships! I look forward to learning more about how international business is conducted. Study abroad in general is a great way to apply concepts I’ve learned in class. I like the length of this program, as it will allow me to dip my toes in to studying abroad and encourage me to study abroad again in college!
