Hello everyone! My name is Ellie Walsh and I am a freshman in the College of Business Administration. I am currently undecided, but am considering majoring in marketing. I am from Northern Virginia, right outside DC and am enjoying Pittsburgh so far! On campus I am involved in Phi Chi Theta which is a Co-ed business fraternity. This semester I was elected as the fundraising chair of the fraternity. I am also involved in a social sorority on campus called Chi Omega. In my free time I love spending time with friends and participating in Pitt Ballet Club.
I am very excited to have the opportunity to travel to Cyprus for the Plus3 program this summer. It will be my first time going abroad without my family and I am looking forward to the experience. I chose Cyprus because I wanted the opportunity to learn more about supply chain management as well as experiencing all of the food and culture. I am not sure if I would ever get to visit Cyprus without this program so I am very grateful.
I hope to improve my professional skills by working with other students and learning from global companies. I hope to expand my networking skills and take in all that this program has to offer. I am especially excited to learn more about the ship management industry in Cyprus after learning about it in pre-departure classes. I am also excited to learn more about the unique history and culture of Cyprus. Lastly, I can’t wait to make long lasting friendships and memories and take it all in!
Overall, I am so grateful for this opportunity and excited to begin traveling!
