My name is Abigail Kunz and I am currently at freshman at the University of Pittsburgh Oakland Campus and am pursuing a BSN. Originally I’m from New Jersey, but I’ve grown to love the area and city! On campus I am involved in a couple of different organizations ranging from professional to social including the Nursing Student Association and Sigma Delta Tau, a social sorority. Besides pursuing my BSN I am also working towards a Global Health Certificate and aiming to graduate with an honors distinction. I love going for runs, exploring the city, and going to different events on campus including sports games and the farmers market.

This summer I’ll be traveling to Birmingham and London with other nursing and education majors to further investigate how the healthcare and education system work in the UK! I haven’t been to Europe yet and I’m super excited to see it for the first time and experience a bit of their culture and lifestyle. I’m so excited to get the chance to visit the hospitals and universities over there and see how they compare to ones here, and see how they’re run from the inside. Getting the chance to interact and work with their students, professors, and nurses is also something I’m looking forward to. Seeing insight as to how they work can provide good insight and ideas that I can take with me through my time as a student and into being a nurse. Finally, I’m super excited to sight see and enjoy activities that were doing on the trip. Going to museums, taking walking tours, and going to see Mamma Mia are all things that sound super fun to me!
