Introduction: Ethan Ritter

Hello, I’m Ethan Ritter, a freshman business student at Pitt, leaning towards majoring in finance. I am from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, which is located somewhat outside Philly. My favorite hobbies include practicing Jiu-Jitsu, fishing, and perfecting my golf swing. Although my ability to practice these hobbies has been limited in Oakland. Since arriving at Pitt, I’ve been actively engaged in the MMA Club and the Panther Equity student investment fund, which have both been fantastic opportunities. However, what truly excites me is the prospect of studying abroad.

My decision to choose Vietnam for my study abroad experience stems from a desire for a truly immersive and transformative journey. Having explored Europe and South America previously, I sought a destination that would push me far beyond my comfort zone. Encouragement from Vietnamese family friends reinforced my choice, as they told me how wonderful the country is. Beyond personal growth, I see this trip as a strategic move for my future career. A study abroad experience in Vietnam not only adds depth to my resume but also lets me if pursuing a minor in international business is right for me. Vietnam’s dynamic economy offers a unique lens through which to understand global markets and business practices, a perspective that will undoubtedly shape my professional trajectory.
