After spending a day hopping around the city of Heredia, I have so much love for Costa Rica! My first impressions of this country are nothing but positive! One of the first things I noticed is the beauty of this country. Whether it’s stunning architecture, remarkable views, or astonishing plants and wildlife, no matter where you look you will spot something beautiful. Today in Heredia, we stopped by a popular shopping mall, and from the top of it, saw an incredible view of the country.
An additional thing I’ve noticed since being here is the kindness displayed by the locals. Whether it was someone walking by saying “Pura Vida!” or “Bienvenidos!” I have felt extremely welcome here. Last night, upon arrival, our host mother greeted us with a hug and some snacks. Feeling so welcomed has led me to be even more excited for these next two weeks!
Lastly, the food here has exceeded my expectations. I thought adjusting to new foods here would be difficult for me, however, everything I have tried had been nothing but delicious! The food offered here is truly amazing, and in the market, we learned about different kinds of dishes that can be made with different foods.
