We Made It to Korea!

Even though I planned to sleep at Nordenberg, I only got about an hour nap before I had to start getting ready to leave. Our departure was the earliest on Saturday, so we met down in the lobby at 2:40 in the morning for our 6 o’clock flight to Atlanta. This flight was a quick hour and a half flight. Once in Atlanta, there was a small layover before we were able to board the flight to Korea. During this time, I ate my last meal in the US, which was at Arby’s. The flight to Korea was a 15-hour flight, but it felt like more. The entire beginning of the flight felt like a time loop. As I fell asleep each time, only about an hour of time would pass. After this, I decided to watch movies to pass the time. I ended up watching like four two-hour movies. When the flight finally ended, we managed to miss an entire day. As we left early morning Saturday and arrived mid-afternoon on Sunday.

Landing in Korea I was full of excitement and exhaustion. Once we landed, we had to board a bus to take us to the hotel. As soon as we got there, I rushed to my room to freshen up as the plane ride made me feel disgusting. After that, we got a quick tour of Seoul from our guide and then left to our own devices. As everyone in the group was starving, we ended up going to this restaurant we found near the hotel. I ordered the beef bulgogi and a coca cola. My meal was about ₩ 15,000. I chose to get the Bulgogi because I always wanted to try it. The great news was that it was delicious.

Even though the curfew today was at 10:30pm, our group decided to call it a night after dinner. We got back to the hotel around 8. As soon as I got back to the room, I quickly fell asleep as the exhaustion finally got to me.
