Neuschwanstein Castle and Wieskirche were on the schedule for day 5. The town was very small, but lively. Since it was a holiday, there was a lot of tourism going on. The first thing we saw was a beautiful lake on the side of the town with great views. We then hiked up the mountain towards the castle and it was a good workout. The Neuschwanstein castle provided great pictures and was incredibly detailed. I can’t believe King Ludwig II was not able to see his final product of the castle. The art and architecture in the interior were amazing and intricate. This was my favorite part of this program so far.
We became all exhausted after the castle hikes and tour. The bus took us to Wieskirche to wrap up the day. Who knew such a big church would be in the middle of nowhere. I was shocked and mesmerized with how stunning it looked inside. Great way to end day 5.
