Germany Day 6 – Landsberg am Lech

On our sixth day in Germany, we went to a little historic town called Landsberg. It’s about the same distance from Munich as Augsburg is. It was our first time as a group taking a train, as we’ve either taken the tram or a bus to all our locations so far. When we arrived in Landsberg, we walked to the city center before splitting up for the day. Landsberg is an older town, from medieval times, and you can tell in the design of the streets.

It is called Landsberg am Lech in german because it is on (am) the Lech river, which runs through southern Germany and into Austria. We took a short walk down the side of the river, before getting lunch at a cafe in the square. The berries I had on my salad were red currant, which apparently we don’t really have in the states. They were very good though, and I am noticing them in a lot of desserts here.

After lunch, we didn’t have much time before going back so we got some people in my group got gelato and sat down at the fountain. This was a nice shorter day, which was definitely after the exhausting first half of our week. I also enjoyed getting to know some of the Augsburg students a little more.
