This might have been the longest day of the entire trip so far. A mixture of 2 long sight visits and the heat made many of us very tired throughout the day. We started of with Coherent which is a company that specializes in making materials and lasers. A lot of the materials and lasers that were being made were used for optics and other eye related things. They were a company that originated in America, but then later moved a building into Vietnam because they said it was cheap labor and a big market too. Coherent is the current leader in making materials, networking, and lasers in Vietnam. The 2nd Company we visited was Saigon High-Tech Park. SHTP was less of a massive company and more of a group that oversees many of the different smaller companies within the park. While in SHTP we toured many facilities and went on a bus tour that showed us what some of the companies were working on and what they were used for. Overall, the day may have felt very slow and long, but I managed to learn many vaulable things about Business and Engineering in Vietnam.
