Innovation and Intricacy Day 10

As the day got started today I realized we only had a couple more days left in Seoul and wow time flew by. The connections I’ve made and the things I have learned on this trip rival any experience I have ever had. Today, however, I will not get sappy as I still want to fully enjoy these last couple of days. In the final on-trip blog post for myself, I will summarize today and look forward to upcoming events in the last two days. The day started with a lift and a quick breakfast before our group boarded the bus again and headed to HY, a company that produces yogurt probiotics in Korea among many other supplemental drinks. At HY we toured the factory and learned about their product line and partnership with Fredit, who sells the goods that they produce. The tour taught me about the intricacies of managing a factory and creating a product in a red ocean-like competitive market. After the great tour and generous gift bag from HY, the group headed to the Samsung Innovation Museum which was a spectacle all in itself. The tour went through engineering and technological history in all sectors and the exhibits were spectacular. The one that stood out the most to me was the history of the TV leading up to the modern Samsung curved TV which had an incredible display. What I learned from this tour was that technology is constantly improving and to improve in that space you must be innovative and be able to think outside the box. Today was filled with lots of information from marketing to engineering to creativity, I learned a lot. To give my brain a break and enjoy the night, some friends and I went to another Korean Baseball game and had a great time in a stadium we had never been in before. The day was very eventful but super enjoyable and I look forward to the celebration of Buddha’s Birthday tomorrow and the Han River cruise two days from today. The next time I write will be for the conclusion of the trip and I look forward to summarizing and wrapping it all up.
