I have officially started my countdown to go home! I am so excited to be leaving in 2 days. I look forward to going home to my family, Bre’s food, and my best friend. Usually me and best friend travel together, but not this time. We complete each other so this trip would have been so much fun. That is one thing I did enjoy from this trip. Every one is really nice and get along. We’re all able to vibe with each other and get along. We even came up with our own little inside jokes that brings us closer. This group was very much meant to be, because we all add our own little character in it and that makes the group. We’re all funny as a collective when together.

Today we visited Sounth and City College in Birmingham. We woke up early to drop our bags off and check out are of the Hampton Inn. I for once did not need someone to wake me up because I was already up. My room in the Hampton inn was cold so it was hard to get any rest in a freezing environment. The taxi ride to the college was only about 10 to 15 minutes long. Driving through Birmingham you see a lot of trash on the grounds. I am a strong believer that Pittsburgh is actually cleaner than Birmingham. When we went on tours outside of Birmingham, it was pretty clean and organized, but in Birmingham you see garbage every where. When we got tk London it was super clean, I did not see single piece of garbage in the streets.

We sat in on a few classes; reading, language, math, and I do not remember what the last one was. This campus has a different way of teaching that is effective to the students education. A lot of students are from different countries such as Sudan and Afghanistan. Seeing different cultures put in the effort to learn English so that they can create a better future and career for themselves in the United Kingdom was so eye opening. Coming from different countries and backgrounds, these students did not give up on their education. Seeing their hands on experience of certain cases was fun. The teaching styles are very good and effective. They gave us lunch and the chicken tenders were really good and spicy. A lot of people can not handle spice but I can’t take it.

I ate at the porchester restaurant for the Alumni dinner. I had porchester eggs for my appetizer or whatever, which was not bad at all. I just liked the egg not the outside crust of it. Then I had the burger which was good but it was massive, and they cooked mine a little too much. I am not really a fry eater, but I love potatoes. The chips here are good and taste authentic and fresh, as if they came straight from the potato sack. I talked with Laila, a past Pitt student who graduated in 2018. She was sweet and related to me a lot. She lived in London for about a year now I think she said. She said she misses her family but they come here and there to meet her!

This campus was very nice and clean. But I am in London and I am DONE with this trip. I genuinely look forward to going back home so bad. My favorite part of traveling is leaving to go back home. Laying in my own bed is missed, as well as eating my culture food. I miss my family so much and they miss me too. I am the funniest person in the house so I know they have been bored without me.
