Lighting up the day with Company Visit, Museum, and Scavenger Hunt

Yesterday was another packed day for us. We didn’t get back until 11 PM because we visited HY’s Yakult factory, Samsung’s Innovation Museum, and Lotte’s surrounding area. We also were tasked with a scavenger hunt from our professor.

HY was another automatic factory that used autonomous assembly lines to speed up the supply process. They also had many smart systems throughout the tour. Every screen and door were controlled using one remote, and they showed their mobile refrigerator delivery system.
Samsung’s Innovation Museum is a museum that moves through the history of electricity and how Samsung came to be the company it is today. It was interesting to see the devices that famous scientists, that I’ve learned about in physics, used. I was also intrigued by their transparent displays. They had some artifacts behind a screen that showed moving pictures and text.

Our last group activity was another scavenger hunt. This time it was multiple locations we needed to find. However, my group decided to take our time and sacrifice the first-place prize, so that we could enjoy the landmarks we were visiting. We went to Starfield COEX mall, Lotte Tower, and Lotte World. We first went to the COEX mall, and we shopped for almost two full hours. We then moved to the next location for the scavenger hunt. Only after we saw another group at the second location did we realize that we were still in contention for first place. That’s when we actively started looking for our last place which no one, including locals, seemed to know about. We knew that it was in a giant 10-floor mall, but not where it was. It took us almost 2 hours and we found our last landmark hidden away on a side wall behind some posters. After this, we climbed Lotte Tower and relaxed in the nighttime view of Seoul.
