Chau Argentina!

I cannot believe today is our final day in Argentina. For our last day in Argentina, we all had a farewell lunch planned by the IES coordinators. We had a BBQ lunch which reminded me of when we first arrived unaware of what experiences laid ahead of us. Yesterday it was Julie’s birthday and the IES coordinators gave her a birthday cake as we all sang along to Happy Birthday. We took one final group photo before saying our goodbyes. It was such a sad but also happy moment. I am so sincerely grateful and glad I was able to take part in this study abroad opportunity. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been able to form many new friendships and memories that I will always cherish.

After the farewell lunch, a group of us headed over to a nearby shopping center to do some last minute shopping. Fortunately, I was able to grab a couple of souvenirs for my family. With the last couple of Argentinian pesos left, I also took some alfajores to go. Now, I am sitting in the airport reminiscing about my time in Argentina and how I am so sad to leave it behind. When thinking about the time I spent there, I came to the realization about how much I have learned since we first arrived. I was able to learn much about the culture through the cultural excursions and museum visits. Furthermore, I learned about the Argentinian healthcare sectors, their delivery systems, and financing. It was so different from the U.S Healthcare system and it was interesting to see that firsthand. Through the university visits, I also had the chance to converse with the students and talk about our different experiences in college. I will carry these valuable lessons through my professional and personal career. This was certainly an unforgettable trip made possible by so many people. Thank you to my classmates, Professor Martsolf, Julie, and the IES Coordinators. Until then, Ciao Argentina!
