Hello everybody! My name is Nick Euteneuer, and I am a Freshman at the Swanson School of Engineering. My intended major is Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Military Science and a certificate in Nuclear Engineering. I am originally from Elicott City, Maryland, and outside of academics, I am a part of the Army ROTC program at Pitt. In my free time, I like to go to the gym, listen to music, try new food, and hang out with friends. In high school, I played lacrosse, soccer, and ran track. Academically, I am passionate about combining design and real-world impact through engineering. I am always looking for opportunities to expand my perspective – both in and out of the classroom. Professionally, my goal is to work on the advancement of nuclear power plant technology, a critical and clear energy source that has the potential to support a more sustainable and reliable global energy infrastructure.
This summer, I will be traveling to Cyprus as a part of the Plus3 Cyprus program, which focuses on global supply chains and international business practices. I chose this program because it offers a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of engineering, culture, and global operations. Through Plus3, I hope to grow personally by gaining new cultural perspectives. Academically, I hope to expand my understanding of international industries by developing the skills and mindset needed to work across borders and disciplines. I am incredibly excited for this experience and grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in such a unique setting.
