Hi! My name is Kendall Yost, and I’m from a small town called Zelienople, just north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I’m currently a nursing student at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, and this May, I’ll be heading to the United Kingdom to study abroad! I’ve always loved traveling, especially internationally, so I’m incredibly excited for this opportunity to go abroad to learn more about healthcare and education in a different part of the world. When I’m not studying, I enjoy reading, skiing, and spending time with my friends. My goal for my future career as a nurse is to become either a nurse practitioner or a nurse anesthetist.
I’m so excited to be traveling to Birmingham to immerse myself in the local culture and learn more about how the UK’s healthcare and education systems work. As a student in the healthcare field, I’m especially looking forward to seeing how what I’ve been learning in class and what I have experienced in the United States compares to real-world practices in another country. I’ll also be visiting London, which I know will be an incredible experience, with lots of history and culture. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity to study abroad, explore both Birmingham and London, learn more about my future field, and meet new people and make new friends!
