Hi everyone, I am David Moreland. I am a Freshman at the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Finance and Business Analytics. I am from Westfield, New Jersey, about 40 minutes from NYC. I am a very outdoorsy person. I would rather be outside doing an athletic activity than inside. I have actually run a triathlon before, and I plan to do it again this summer. So, I will have to keep up my training during the Plus3 program.
As mentioned before, I am majoring in Finance and Business Analytics. I have always been interested in the world and how it all functions on a financial level. So far, one of my favorite classes at Pitt has been Intro to Macroeconomics. I learned a lot about the things that interest me most, such as economic policy in the United States and outside of it and how they use it to keep the economy operating at full capacity. I hope to one day be working for a bank possibly in a international role within their finance teams.
The Plus3 program I have chosen is the Korea program for smart systems. I am excited to embark on my journey to South Korea and can’t wait to push my comfort zone. I have always wanted to go to Asia, and this would be an excellent experience for me to do that while also learning a lot about smart systems, which I was heavily intrigued by as a kid. This experience will aid me professionally as it can give me a leg up over other applicants for potential internships I will pursue next year. Being able to experience a brand-new culture with a group of friends will be an excellent experience for everyone involved. I can’t wait to go to South Korea.
