Hi! My name is Jacob Milgrub and I am a first-year chemical engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering. I’m curious, always looking for ways to expand my perspective—whether that’s through academics, travel, or engaging with new cultures. Academically, I’m passionate about exploring how engineering and innovation intersect with global challenges, especially in the fields of sustainability and technology. Professionally, I hope to work in an industry where I can contribute meaningful, real-world solutions through research, design, or manufacturing.
I’ve chosen the Plus3 program in South Korea because of the country’s global leadership in advanced technology, innovation, and engineering. South Korea is home to some of the world’s most influential companies, and I’m excited to see firsthand how these industries operate in a different cultural and economic context. Through Plus3, I hope to grow personally by stepping out of my comfort zone and immersing myself in a new environment. While in Seoul, I am excited to try a ton of new foods, explore, and immerse myself in the culture. Overall, I hope that this program helps me build a more global mindset and gain insights that will shape my future career in engineering.
