Off to the Equator!

Hello everyone! My name is Maddie Listman and I am from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have two older sisters, a younger brother, three nieces, and two dogs. I currently work as a lead camp counselor at my high school during the summer, and I love to travel, go to the beach, and go to concerts, specifically country.

I am in the Katz School of Business, intending to double major in finance and marketing and earn a certificate in International Business. I love to travel, so I also plan on studying abroad again in the future. Professionally, the business school has helped me learn so much in my first year, and I am excited to continue to learn and grow with new experiences.

My chosen Plus3 Program is Ecuador! Ecuador involves the study of both flowers and chocolate making it known as the Mother’s Day trip. I was specifically inclined and intrigued to go to Ecuador the most because my mom owns a small chocolate business that has been passed down from generation to generation. Therefore, chocolate holds a high importance in my family and overall it is why I chose this program. All in all, I hope to gain more understanding of both the chocolate and flower industries and dig deeper in my knowledge of the production of chocolate starting straight from the cacao.

Professionally, I hope to branch out and become a curious learner who asks questions and is eager to learn more each day spent in both Quito and the Amazon Rainforest. Additionally, I want to further understand international business and how it all works, and how it differs from the business I am used to now. I am very excited to travel, explore, learn, and gain valuable experience that I can take back and apply in the Katz School of Business!
