On day 3 in Korea, we visited 2 company’s. The first company we visited was hy. Ghis company produces small yogart drinks that are filled with healthy probiotics. During our tour of hy’s facilities we were shown everythign from the fermentation process, aseembly, and distribution of their products. I found it very intresting that most of hy’s product is sold through carts that run down the streets of Korea sepereate from normal markets. At the end of our tour we got free samples of these yogarts and they tasted absolutly amazing! After this comapny visit we got lunch as a group at another traditional place. We got beef, seafood, and tofu soup at this place which once again tasted great! I like how each traditional food place requires sharing with a group of four which creates a sense of community throughout the meal.
Our second company we visited was TKE Elevators. This is an elevator manufacturing company located in Korea. This tour was incredible because the technology that the elevators use is so advanced and hard to wrap our heads around. The facilities itself were also very nice since they had stuff like ping pong, pool, and even a golf simulator which we got the chance to use. Later in the tour we got a tour through the factory and a special place that explained the importance of safety in elevators. We got to participate in a demonstration of falling by getting raised in the air by harness and then getting dropped to feel the force of the drop. This company was very interesting and impressive to see the entire manufacturing process.
For dinner me and some people went to get Korean BBQ which was definitely my favorite meal of the trip. The meat was so tender and nothing like I’ve had back home. We then walked through Gangnam where we stopped at a bunch of various stores and game areas. We finished our night by getting cake in Gangnam which tasted fantastic.
